You can also add images by clicking the “Picture” button on the Insert tab. This is an ideal way to add your company logo, for example, or a head shot of the person who will be sending the letters or documents. Remember this is for a template, which means you’d be including the picture on all things generated with the template. Right-click an image included on the template and choose “Change Picture.” Click “Change Picture” again on the context menu and navigate to an image to include. To add a text box, you can either right-click, copy and paste an existing one or click the “Draw Text Box” button on the Home tab.

To delete placeholder text boxes you don’t need, click an edge of the box and press the “Delete” key.

Type over the rest of the text throughout the template page or document. Because this is a template, you may want to stick with generic terms, such as categories like “City” and “State” instead of the actual information. Click into the text boxes on the page - unlike Word, all of the text in Publisher is in text boxes - and highlight the placeholder text. Scroll back to the top page or first area and zoom in so you can read the included generic text.
